for You as yet are Most to me and never-enough

breaking in from tattered window shades

opening half-lit hopes into

dawn’s light-bursting flight

ascending only when night is darkest

and i feel farthest from You

and who i think You to be.

sounding everything with clashes

like cymbal’s lighting, pulling forth wind

and tearing house-edges like rips on a page

peeling away all i've built to feel safe

You make me so uneasy and so free, 

until, oh God,

everything is gone,

and i'm left with only me

and You

and all of You.
