Steadfast. Immovable (Part VIII) is the eighth of an 11 part series of poems I wrote in 2010 during a time of transition. Transition has always been hard for me, but this situation, I really experienced God shepherding my heart as I left one role and move onto another. He did a lot of shifting on the heart level for me. These poems celebrate how constant and strong He is in the midst of life's uncertainty. (1 Corinthians 15.58)
Christ steadfast. immovable.
a much deeper devotion, oh God
in you, the word within
one prayer resounds,
the silent rumble
of Your wonderful will
i am among those stretched
lost and looped,
captured and indwelt by You!
oh come on, God,
all that You are is in me?
did You make me
to hold all eternity?
this is a mad man’s lyric
the oxymoron
yet so met and sense-filled
with the resonance of this world.
i find joy beneath You
i love your own humility
so a-part
it’s all of me
so beyond
that it has exploded in erratic colors
in unsearchable joys
unknowable tastes
that make up to-day
You are so satisfied with Your ways (in me!)
a fumbling, God-filled, idiot.
Yours.
