Steadfast. Immovable (Part V) is the fifth of an 11 part series of poems I wrote in 2010 during a time of transition. Transition has always been hard for me, but this situation, I really experienced God shepherding my heart as I left one role and move onto another. He did a lot of shifting on the heart level for me. These poems celebrate how constant and strong He is in the midst of life's uncertainty. (1 Corinthians 15.58)
Christ steadfast. immovable.
Overcoming Love overcame.
the Conqueror, the Victor, still stands
so close to the peasant
touches the slave
the addict renewed into a sweeter addiction
a beloved devotion to the flood
men couldn’t ever stop.
oh, we’ve written it
yet its outside of us
and somehow still
written inside the world…
oh secret men have ever searched for
Deity that touches men still
(and i will sing in ink, sing with me,
sing: Christ, steadfast. immovable!)
