Steadfast. Immovable (Part IX) is the ninth of an 11 part series of poems I wrote in 2010 during a time of transition. Transition has always been hard for me, but this situation, I really experienced God shepherding my heart as I left one role and move onto another. He did a lot of shifting on the heart level for me. These poems celebrate how constant and strong He is in the midst of life's uncertainty. (1 Corinthians 15.58)
Christ steadfast. immovable.
i come in on Your shoulders
i eat light
i resonate with peace
i ask, and it is given
i sing with you, i sing.
our fellowship on Your initiation.
you are everything—my soul weeps and laughs
our Fragrance in the courts
dressed in elegance, we dance
among the pillars,
upon the Throne,
and i sit up in Your lap.
away with me You ride
to a sleep land
i am wrapped in your garments
and i breathe
the rhythms of Your heart
“how precious You are to me”
my heart beats back to Yours
“how very precious, my son, my darling…”
and i hear that we are One.
when You are God,
what am i?
i'm so glad to be nothing,
when You are mine.
