Genevieve
Cherry trees blossom,
and brought more life than imagined—
A daffodil trumpet simply to declare that she was there,
To attract the eye, the star behind,
Becoming for new seasons of separation.
The darknesses of slow disintegration
The melancholys of yellow teeth and skin’s
Soft stems like bones weakening
Worsening the cane [the cane waning/ and stopping]
To walk then stop.
For pain and settling still remain
As a single heart beat in my imagination, never seen.
These fruits the flowers will never see,
The cherries cheer, and beg to eat,
The fragrance blooms variety
These seeds, the seeds she’ll never see.

Oh how sweet how sweet you were to me.
Like lines on a face, you marked my life; my heart has your hand’s imprint
And I never got to say goodbye…
